Marmot from Filzmoos

Hello folks , just a quick brake from the seals ... more to come :w3
This little fella was very accessible when moving slowly , so i saw him on that outlook from a short distance , grabbed my second cam with the wide a angle attached and took some frames .
Wanted him to look the other way ..... i wanted .. but not him :t3 , finally he moved out of the frame to the left :e3.

Hi Andreas - A nice scene and well done to grab the wide angle. The pov works extremely well. I agree with your self-critique about wanting the marmot to be looking to the right rather than out of the frame. I think you bring out a little more detail in the clouds. A very different animalscape that works.

Hi Andreas, I agreed that it'd have been better if the marmot look the other way, but that doesn't bother me much. The cloud above wasn't cooperating with you though. Wish it would be something other than a mass of grey. Loi

I can understand your frustration with this chap looking the wrong way, but not much you could do about it:)

Lovely image and I like the 3D feel to it, colours are superb, nice textures and detail.

Techs as good as they get. Well processed (as expected) and I would not change anything here, love that patch of blue sky BTW:S3:

Think I prefer the wider shot with more of the environment in frame, sadly not an option for me. I think these are far more 'people friendly' than mine were, which allows for this type of shot. Bit of lens distortion which you could easily correct.

Thanks Steve , much appreciated .YEs a lot more friendly the Marmots in Filzmoos, i do like the way i took the image and i would have liked to go even closer to get the teeth bigger in the frame ..... :t3.... leaving the beaten path :w3.
But even in Filzmoos they do have a limit how close one get .... specially if you are limited to a bit more of a 1/2 day of shooting. But i bet with more time i could have get that shot that you took of the squirrel ....!!!

Lets face it Andreas, Squirrels are easily bought (not baited in my case), but always curious in case of a free tit bit, unlike Marmots.

The Marmots in Filzmoos are like squirrels ....the issues there are the other tourists who make them running around for the next free tit bit .So they do not concentrate that much on one person ....

Great capture Andreas...love everything about this one!!! The up-close wide angle view is perfect!!!
