Not sure if this works or not. This bird was hunting worms on my lawn and had just attempted to catch one, but only came away with a little dirt. I decided to leave the grass, I think it adds a little more interest to the image. After thoughts are that maybe including the lawn in the image would have been a better option.A little disappointed that the tip of the beak is oof.

I like what you've done here Ian. I think there are more details in the whites than you see in the photo as presented. I would like to see the whole of the bird's head also. Love the eye. Might apply selective sharpening to the beak. Thanks for posting!

Fully agree with Doug !!! The one thing that stands out is the prominent white area. Really need to tame it since it attracts so much from the image !!! Excellent detail on the head !!!

Thanks guys, will try and make the changes suggested. The bird is an Australian Magpie.
