Here is another image for this months theme . Sighted this huge male of the Marsh pride on the bank of the Talek river . He had just feasted on a hippo kill and was in no mood to leave the place and as the sun was setting quite quickly I decided to experiment with the wide angle lens . Used the built in flash for this and selected this flash lit eye frame as i thought it gives a more ghostly look to the subject amidst the gloomy settings.
DPP4 CS6, Levels, dodging, Shadow and highlights , NR , conversion to B&W , FF .
Canon 7D , token 11-16 mm f2.8, handheld, built in flash .
ss 1/250, f / 7.1, iso 800 .
All your C&C's are most welcome.

Mmm...
I quite like the contrasty mono look here, and the flashed FG sets off the lion from the BG nicely (would have blended in too much otherwise).
The flashed eye look normally bugs me but I get what you were going for and in that context it also works for me. I gather many people will differ with me though.
Nice OOTB thinking!

Yes I like it too Haseeb, I do have some reservations over the eyes though, I particularly like the lighting effect of the whole image and I also like the composition.

I really like the whole scene you have captured with great atmosphere, sorry but I am not so fond of the Lions eyes.

Hi Haseeb - This works better for me. However, the flashed eyes don't work for me. Not sure what you could do otherwise though.
