A road through the woods in the snow.
This is nicely asymmetrical. With the shadows and fence in the bottom, it's well-grounded. And being able to see the texture of the snow is a plus. It's a pretty scene, too. I might very slightly give the whites a kick with a Levels layer. I'd also suggest a fix of the abrupt transition in tones at the top. Selecting the upper part of the left side, pasting it on a new layer, flipping it horizontally, moving it to the right, and a little masking would do the trick.
Those bare tree trunks pointing into the center really grab the eye. I also like how the fence curves around the interior of the circle. Very effective in these monochrome tones. Is this an example of recent weather? Dennis has a good suggestion for that top transition line.
no, it was snow from a couple years ago. our winter was too warm for a good snow this year. Like Dennis's suggestion. Will work on that.
Thanks for the help, Dennis.
Hi, Hazel, the repost is much better. Dennis is a wizard with photoshop. I used to love doing mini worlds and I haven't been able to produce one that I liked this month. It seems like I used to be able to move the image to line everything up like you did in the repost but it seemed like I used the arrow key to accomplish it. Any ideas anyone???
Hazel,
Greetings. Good work on the repost. Without the dark vignette it looks like a reflection off ice (to me). Very cool (er, so to speak). Thanks for posting.
Cheers,

My first thought is that this looks like a beautiful glass platter. I like the second version. The B&W makes this look abstract.
I love the trees and snow! The fence works well to ground them in the circle. The repost rocks!
