I love the variety of Daffodils in my garden.
I'm working on a series of flowers in this little vase/bottle.
Texture: "Solstice": by R.H. West.
Color Efex Pro: Detail Extractor and Color Contrast.
I took this using the High Resolution setting on Olympus OM-DE-M5II.
I'm wondering if the texture is the right color and if it is too harsh for the flower.
I think the horizontal line may be too wide.

No, I think the horizontal line is a perfect balance for the lines of the stem and sides of the vase. re texture, I'm not the pro to ask. Still a large learning curve for me there, but my 2 cents worth is that I like it. It helps set apart the hi res of the flower petals. Nice. Looking for more of these

I agree with Hazel about the horizontal line. It's also a plus because it's the base of a triangle with the center of the daffodil at its apex. With the flower, itself, being high in the frame and not directly above the stem and container, the line provides stability, too. I like the texture, as well. It looks like you might've darkened the background behind the petals some. I could see making a bit more contrast between them and the background, but it's very nice the way it is.

Anita, very beautiful. Very simple, and yeah I do like the horizontal line. As has been said by others, it adds to the image. Thanks for sharing!

Anita, I am always a fan of your images with flowers! Love the transparent and simple lines of the vase and just the single flower. Also the pale color palette with just the orange center for contrast. I would like to see a version with the stem visibly connecting to the flower, as the flower itself seems to be floating a bit in the space. Horizontal line and texture all good. I like there appears to be a bit of green in the texture, picking of the stem color. p.s. I wish I had thought of this approach for my daffodils as I could not seem to create a version of them I liked while outside.

I appreciate the comments. Good point about the stem, Nancy. I'm not happy with the darkened areas, Dennis. Thanks, all, for feedback on the horizontal line. I'll go back to the drawing board.
Nancy--I find that taking photos of flowers outdoors is much more challenging than bringing them inside.

Anita, sorry I'm late and it looks like everything has been covered technically. I like the line, also and the choice of texture.:S3:
