This is I think a Sika deer or a Ezo deer. seen in Hokkaido / Japan. I really do not know properly. I checked all over, but .....!!! :eek3:
Maybe someone from you know this, or sees it!!
That deer came in a group of about 10 animals. They hung around on the beach. I think no one wants to know that 5 meters to the right were some boats! :t3 Their natural habitat walking between the forest a bit inland and the beach. I think they loved the beach very much to hang around there. The grass was more or less open to eat, well more than in the forest nearby. We have seen huge herds of them walking all over!
I leveled the image, no crop, removed some human dumped elements or might was some washed up plastic stuff from sea!!
Canon 1DX
f/8.0 1/3200 ISO 800 that's because just before I took images a bit further off, of a fox hunt!
70-200mm & 2x ext.
Have a nice weekend

Hi Anette - A very regal pose. This ticks all the boxes for me. Beautiful scene with the snow capped mountains in the distance, nice placement in frame. Good tones and detail. Well done.

Hi Anette, I think Rachel's choice of the word 'Regal' sums up the stance very well, this could have easily been shot in Scotland.
The framing and pose is pretty spot on, may be a sliver more at the foot if you have it for my tastes, but no deal breaker. As he was static I think you could have reduced the ISO so as to drop the SS. Nice body form, shows well how athletic & fit these guys are.

Thank you very much Rachel and Steve.
Had to google the word Regal!! :eek3:
Steve, sure could have reduced the ISO, but there were two males looking a bit suspicious for a 'boyish' hitting each others heads :w3 and you never know. The fox(es) could have shown up again with their hunt! :Whoa!:
No silver left for the feet!
Wish you both a great Sunday
Ciao Anette

Hey Anette, having boats near by isn't a problem; this is the world we live in. This is a very pleasing images, I like the pose and the soft pastel blue sky and this is not a deer that we see every day. I don't understand Steve's comment about lowering ISO to lower SS (especially with 1Dx); why not shoot even a static subject at a high shutter speed. If anything I might have raised the ISO and shot at f/16 or even higher to clarify the mountains.

Hello Anette!
Lovely statuesque pose from this male deer and such beautiful landscape - a well captured and processed image, superb presentation.
I like the rich colours and tonality, sharpness spot on, all it really needs is...a lovely frame
