I photographed this scene while I was out birding. It is actually a 100mm landscape using the short end of the 100-400 L Mk2 lens. It was a day of sunshine and showers and I caught the end of a rainbow.

I'd already seen that you find great scenes to photograph. Your timing on this one was outstanding. The combination of the rainbow and the stormy sky is wonderful. Not having ever used the Oil Paint filter, I don't know if you can angle the brush strokes or if the weather was making the trees and grasses point toward the rainbow. Either way, it adds a lot.
I like that the tree and grasses seem to be pointing to the rainbow. Lovely light. The dark clouds at the top tell us about the storm that just passed. The top front of the silo is a little distracting to me--it draws my eye because it is white, and I can't figure out what those things are sticking out and up. A lovely scene!
Nice catch, good treatment! The windmill (??) is a puzzle to us on this side of the pond.
Thanks for your comments. I will explain about the 'Mill'. It is actually a Wind Pump. There are many of these on the marshes here and were originally used for pumping water back into the river keeping the marshes drained for grazing. They originally had a four bladed sail which drove the pump, but many have been taken down now because of maintenance costs. The things sticking out and up are part of the structure on which the sails were mounted. The draining of water is now carried out by electric pump which is housed in the building in front of the Wind pump. The pump in the OP was erected in 1806 and is now used as a holiday home. I hope that has explained it for you.

Wonderful dramatic lighting on the various horizontal layers, making this a very dynamic image. The oil painting texture adds to the windy, dramatic mood. And the rainbow is the perfect foil for the dramatic storm. Good to know about the windmill details. Thank you.
