It's a pretty scene, and I like what you've done with it. The colors work very well together. I could see cropping some from the top, but that would mean losing the color in the upper right. An idea if you want to make it look like a less-detailed water color would be to reduce the clarity with the slider in Adobe Camera Raw before bringing it into CS6, and then applying the Oil Paint filter.
Nice image, love the colors and mood. I think Dennis has a good idea with the clarity slider. I often tell people that the best thing about that particular adjustment is that you can lower it as well as raise it. :c3: I think that would make a nice diffusion to enhance your painterly look even more.
Hi, David, this will qualify as a Cloud/Fog theme image. Would you like me to change it for you? I love the treatment and rather than a crop from the top I'd like to see a little bit off of the bottom - not much - just about in the middle of the dark cloud reflection.:S3:
HelloCheryl. Yes please, I didn't realise there was a theme. Agree about a little off the bottom but will leave it as is.
David
Very nice! How about a graduated darkening from the top down to about 1/3? Would balance the darker bottom, which I wouldn't crop. I like that the darker cloud reflection isn't cut in two.
This is a lovely, peaceful scene. I especially like the very picturesque element of the windmill. Very nice composition with the glow surrounding the strip of land and coming in wide from the right side and narrowing going towards the left. The soft golds and yellows capture the eye and expands ones view outward and into both the clouds and their lovely reflection in the water. The addition of the grasses in the lower corner anchor the image nicely. Dennis & Kerry have a good suggestion about the clarity slider that you could experiment with. Well done!
Beautiful composition and colors. I like the clouds.
Hello Dennis, Kerry, Cheryl,Diane, Nancy and Anita. Many thanks for your kind comments. It's nice being able to do something else with my old landscape photographs which would otherwise lie forgotten on some dusty hard drive! Nancy you seem to find much more in my images than I do! I just squint through the eyepiece and move the camera around until everything looks right and press the button.
