Small in the Frame X More or Less 100 + High-key.
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, and I sat on this image for a bit before processing it, but for sure fits the "small in the frame" theme if you only consider the individuals rather than the flock as a whole:S3:. This is a full frame image of part of a flock of Bohemian Waxwings that frequented a local arboretum for a few days before all the many trees' fruits were stripped away.
A bit of an experiment really, but I thought it an interesting juxtaposition of the two trees with birds in them. I had to tweak my position left or right, and up or down, by mere inches to get the correct overlap that made me happiest. In this image there is about 100 birds...the whole flock was about four to five times that number.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/5.6, ISO 800, FF. I may tweak the image by cloning out the two tails in extreme upper right corner...
