Redpoll at drinking pool.
Very few of these around this year. Seen about three at the pool- usually one of the commonest winter flock species in the wood here, and on the garden feeders.

Beautiful bird and capture, John. Like the low angle, and yet high enough to get a good portion of the red feathers. Love the lowered prep for drinking. Great light and nicely framed.

I only usually see this species around and on snow around here, so this is a treat to see one surrounded by all that vegetation. A very intimate look at this gal. Nicely done.

Thanks all
The slightly higher angle does help with pool birds in quite a few ways. Especially reflections which I tery very hard to avoid. Maybe its the lack of cold weather that has affected bird numbers over here.
Cheers
John
