Lest you think I've developed a strange fascination with raindrops, let me assure you it's not so. With a few exceptions, I do images pretty much in the order in which the shots were taken. We must've had a lot of rain last July. This is the last raindrop one for a while. You knew right away it was raindrops, right? :S3: The rain had stopped but was still dripping from the trees overhead when I came to a puddle by the side of the street. The blue diagonals are from a double line next to the edge of the street. The upper left corner bursts are a couple sparse clumps of grass, and the uuper right is the part of the street just beyond the edge of the puddle.

The two best ripples were in the first and last photos. The two shots were layered and a good bit of the top one (near one of the stripes) was deleted.
Orientation was a compromise, but I rotated the image 90-degrees clockwise.

Alien Skin Snap Art -- saved watercolor wash preset, Color blend mode
Nik Silver Efex -- Luminosity blend mode a\ la Michael
Invert adjustment layer -- reduced opacity
Fractalius -- three black & white presets; Multiply, Divide, Multiply
Simplify and Snap Art -- saved black & white line presets, Multiply (for black lines)
same as above but Divide (for white lines) and offset a small amount from the black lines These two steps combine to give the raised effect.
Photomorphis texture -- two layers, Color and Pin Light

Is this a raindrop or a puddle with a couple of raindrops? Without the title, would not have guessed either. Beautiful blues and greens! Lovely textures. Really unusual work.

WoW! Love the abstract! Looks like cracked mud, maybe, but certainly not asphalt! Fantastic conversion, vision, application, etc.! When is your technique video coming out???
