I spent a day shooting these beauties in south texas earlier this week and was very happy with the trip. The 600 was a bit too much and i had no room to play with in terms of composition, which is something i like to do. The dark spots in the bg was OOF shrubs which i could do nothing about.
This portrait is such a stunner! I love the vibrant colors and frankly feel the varied BG works quite well here. Great pose and details.

Superb shot. I don't mind the background at all. I like that the darker background doesn't interfere or cross path with the bird. Thanks for such a beautiful picture!

Very nice Supreet. I think the darker bottom actually anchors everything together and without, I think maybe a bit bland. The bird is gorgeous as is the perch. I might consider getting rid of the little OOF sticks at the bottom.
TFS!

Spectacular colors and detail, great pose. BG looks fine to me. My only nit (which you can't do anything about in this lovely shot) would be to prune the setup to get rid of the few blossoms that aren't parallel to the focal plane.

All has been said. Perfect image and nice colors. I would sharpen it a tad less. Well done.
