This is a behavioral shot, I think the lack on the technicals could be partially overcome by the action capture. I could be wrong, it won't be the first time.:)

Neat capture Raul. Although I've never thought of stilts as tough birds, the killdeer running and screaming in terror below has convinced me to reconsider. Maybe a little brightening of the killdeer's face to accentuate the fear in his eyes?

Hey raul, it was great to share time together yesterday, I had lots of fun :)
Ofcourse this would be a keeper because of the action. I like the suggestion of lightening the Killdeer's face :

Great action Raul.
I was at Merritt Island Saturday working the Stilt nests and saw one attacking a Great Blue Heron. They are fearless when it comes to protecting the babies.

action captures
Raul: When you said "I think the lack on the technicals could be partially overcome by the action capture" is a very interesting statement, and one that I sure hope is valid. It is a situation where you are essentially flying by the seat of your pants, trying to frame properly, and maybe getting a quick glance at your shutter speed. Click away and hope for the best.
I've seen Stilts attack ducks, grackles, and pretty much any birds as well. Fortunately they recognize I'm not a bird so I'm OK. What is really funny is seeing tiny least terns attack seagulls.~onlybill
