Looks like it was a difficult angle of shooting as you got the light from right and towards. Good work coping with a difficult situation, Will. Nice looking ducks.
Always a treat to see 3 sharp birds in the same frame.
This is a very nice natural history shot showing the raised heads.
Is this a big crop Will?
I would do another round of NR on the BG.

William:
I think you handled the light angle well. Interesting interaction.
I could see a modest crop from the top. In a perfect world, would have been nice to have the female not overlap the one male, but at least the heads are separated nicely.
Cheers
Randy
Photographing three birds in the same frame and getting it right is very tricky and you have just about pulled it off here. The lighting has been handled well. Agree to losing just a little of the dead space on top.

I really find this image very appealing the ducks are obviously fixated on something. I like the colour of the ducks against the background they stand out beautifully.
I would agree about a bit more NR in the background,
Hi Will, great low shooting angle, and you achieved good DOF for F/5.6. Love the similar raised heads from both males, and great how those yellow eyes pop from the green sheen on their heads.
Thanks for the lovely comments. Hi Jon, they are fixated on the female :w3 Hi Gail, yes a fairly big crop, hence getting the three birds in focus @f5.6. I wished it was a little lighter, when the sun came out fully, they were off.

Nice story here. I'd crop some off the top and include more bottom and right, if you have it.
