While taking a break from the Kites found a pair of Stilts with babies. They are relentless chasing other birds away no mater the size !!! Got a few chances and all were with the 600 and 1.7X converter. Difficult tracking.
Comments welcome and much appreciated

Hi Alfred. I don't envy you trying to track these with the big lens. The pose is very nice, the bird is sharp and well placed in the frame. You did well getting detail in both the blacks and whites. On my monitor, the bird's beak blends in too much with the dark background so I almost have to hunt for it - I think that if you brightened up that portion of the background, the image would be much stronger. Other than this one item, I like the image a lot. :)

Personally Alfred I actually prefer your first post. I find it richer and really very beautiful. The repost does show off the beak more and it is also nice but I vote for number 1. Great image and wonderful exposure. Not an easy feet with a 600mm lens and a stilt. Quite a pair . A winner !!!!

Love it, saw this picture this morning on the LCD of you camera. I did not get anything close to this, but I may post one after I go thru all the shots.
Like the wing position and the nice feather details on the wings.

Raul

I am looking at both images and find the second one more interesting , with more detail. I wish I could have shot at these beauties.
Background is great as well.

The repost looks better on my monitor, too. Better bill/BG separation. Great pose and details!
