I was tempted to give a Theme prefix to this one -- after all, the branches are bare of foliage, the birds are puffed up to stay warm in the frigid air, and the juvenile is molting into winter adulthood. But so many nice snowy scenes have been posted this month that I resisted the temptation. Anyway, I liked the juxtaposition of these two House Sparrows, sitting by the side of a pond near the Jersey Shore a few weeks ago.
Nice duo of spadgers Bill. Ours have moved away somewhere for the Winter !!
Good stuff.

Love seeing this pair face-to-face. Color scheme works well. In a perfect world, I'd prefer the image minus the bottom twig.

Bill:
The poses make it look like they are having a conversation. Sharp and well exposed.
I do appreciate Marina's point about the bottom twig. Because it is red, it tends to be more noticeable than if a more neutral color.
Cheers

Good one, Bill. Great light and detail. Nice clean capture given all the brambles interweaving the branches.

A delightful image. A species I very much like too. It is a pity the perch was not the only twig in shot ...but sadly you had no control there. Nice work.
