Hey everyone,
Sorry for not being able to contribute much to the forum lately. Tons of work and not much time for going out shooting. Here is one from this summer – an Egyptian vulture. They are getting extinct rapidly and I wanted to get a glimpse of one for quite some time. I was fortunate enough to be able to observe two different pairs this year. This is part of the second pair. It was collecting some food for their young when a wolf came by and the bird jumped on a rock to be able to observe it better. I hope you like it.
The picture is taken from a hide.
Here are the details:
Nikon D3, 300 mm f/2.8 + 1.7 TC
F/5.6, 1/1600, ISO 800, Manual exposure
A small crop, sharpening, local colour adjustments in the very bright areas.
Thanks for your comments!
Kalin

Nice image of a good looking Vulture. I would clone out the white spots and lines (OOF vegetation) above the colorful line in the background as they are distractive.

Very nice "technicolor" look you have. Excellent details and bright but attractive BG.

I like how you worked with the side lighting here. You have great details in your whites, and I love how the vulture is facing the sun is just soaking in those rays. This frame works very nicely for me as is, with vegetation and all!

Handsome shot. Who says vultures can't look good. Very nice detail on the bird and on the grasses in the FG. Good colors in the BG. Also good head turn. Well done.

All been said. I think the dark area to the right could maybe be tonede down a little. No big deal though.

Kalin it's a smashing shot, light ,bird and setting all look excellent to me,the loose looking feathering on the bird really sets it off, very nice indeed.
