Great image, John. Love the light on this beauty. Wonderful winter setting with snow falling and lovely, just soft enough BG.

Appreciated.

Great snowy scene, helped by the low SS. Nice and sharp on the head which has just the right amount of turn. Lighting makes the head almost luminous. A little cluttered for me in the lower right, but that's your preference.
good point Bill. Wouldn,t be too difficult to work on maybe.

Great image of the bird, the whites are really well handled. You have found some lovely light from somewhere. Just the right shutter speed for the falling snow. Agree with Bill on the cluttered rh side.
John:
I like this one better. Dappled light works well here, strong sense of snowy habitat.
It would be very easy to remove the thin upright on the right, and desaturate the green leaves just a bit, and I think that would really keep our eye on the subject.

What gorgeous detail! Had to play with a crop and a slight toning down in the corner.
This is one I had played with before Diane,s post . Think I,ve overdone it. Stump on the right has now un balanced it I reckon

Taking about half the empty space off the right would balance it for me.
The repost of yours John makes the bird really stand out, well done
Pose, exposure, composition, look all good, John. I like the original the best. By removing the shrub from the right corner seem to have upset the balance.
Excellent. I can cope with negative space:) I would darken the eye but not blacken it. Nice work John.
Thanks all.

Very good image of a shy winter visitor, the head turn is just right and the soft light shows off fine feather detail. I like the original, its well balanced to me.
Love these thrushes.
Graham.
