Trumpeter fully extended

This trumpeter was imaged this morning at the local bird sanctuary. These are wild, free ranging birds that like to hand out with their friends. They don't overnight there, but fly in at various times in the early morning. The sun was peaking over the tops of the trees, lighting up the far shore and the bird.

D4 600VR f/7.1 1/3200s ISO 800 . Gitzo/Wimberley

Post: 10% crop to help the diagonal lines of the bird work with the frame diagonals. Selective sharpening.

Hi Randy, what beautiful bird. I'd like the composition and the fully extended wings. The white bird popped against the dark BG nicely. Only wish is the angle is not so steep. Loi

Excellent work here Randy. Good flight pose and handling of whites. I might just bring down the blues just a tad on the leading edge of the wings. Nice work.

I like the angled pose, sharpness, exposure and setting. The blue on the wings edge caught my eye as well. Very well done Randy!

Hi Randy, those wings couldnt have been extended another feather. I like the straight neck, and I dont find this angle too steep at all. I do like the mottled BG.
