Great exposure control and details. The captured action is great, too. A lower angle would have made it even better. I think it needs some CW rotation and there is a slight sharpening halo, especially around head and bill. You probably could have gotten away with a lower ISO setting.

awesome detail, whites look great and the action is sweet!!! i dont know if you could go any lower, but it might would have been better if you could. still like it like it is though!! nice job!!

I really like everything about this image. I am taken with the subtle shadow behind the bird and the (I assume) excellent use of fill-flash to light up even the interior of the clam!

excellent view and profile Roman....ya, how did you light up the inside of the clam, was it just right naturally?
Agree about slight cw rotation needed. And maybe cool it down just a wee bit.
The head and back exposure is one of best I have seen here

Hi All,
thanks for the suggestions............will do on the CW rotation. To answer the lighting...........low sun angle..........bright diffused sun......no flash..........only explanation..........bounce off sand???

I think this is a wonderful image and just the kind I like!!! The food item and the beautiful little clam tell the whole story! Good detail and exposure to go along with the good framing. The very small nits can easily be fixed.

Very cool behavior image. It looks even better on my computer monitor than on your LCD! :D

Talk about being in the right place at the right time :)
Little issues very easy to fix on an otherwise excellent image. Congrats, Roman!

Beautiful capture Roman with just awesome lighting and exposure. The detail is excellent as well as the composition. Such beautiful birds and you certainly captured it.
