This is how I pictured the scary trees in the dark forests of Grimm's scary fairy tales when I was young. The trees were a blur with branches & tendrils that could reach out and grab you at any time :Whoa!:! I never did understand why these fairy tales were told to children. Anyway, this is an in-camera blur. I picked a main focus point on the tree trunk and twisted the camera around using slow shutter speed of 3.2 sec., ISO 100, f14.
This is a great interpretation. Those dark, evil eyes make the tree look scary for sure. Did the lens have a mounting ring, or did you somehow do this handheld?
I'd be inclined to darken the light parts in the upper right to make them a little less noticeable and lighten the tan parts in the lower left, but I really like what you've done. This is creativity!!!
Great job with the blur and with the composition! I would also suggest darkening the blue and tan on the right.

Wonderful! The extra "wiggle" from hand-holding adds a very nice element. Scary forest indeed!
I'd consider removing or cropping the light sky on the far right, but would want to leave the one next to it. Probably needs a mixture of crop and clone.

As others have already written, this is a wonderfully creative interpretation of the dark woods. I agree with the darkening suggestions, to make it more ominous. Great job of rotating the camera.
