Lousy weather so I thought I would have a look at some old files and came across this one taken back in June 2011. Taken in North Wales where it is becoming increasingly difficult to photograph them. They are located in and around a fenced off area where little terns nest. The trouble is the guardians of the reserve are becoming very protective due to so called photographers not keeping outside of the fenced area, as a consequence most photographers are looked upon as intrusive, insensitive and totally uncaring. I doubt if I will be able to get any shots in 2015 because as soon as anyone turns up with a long lens the guardians walk across the reserve (yes across) to tell you you are upsetting the birds despite remaining outside of the perimeter fence.

Sweet image Jonathan. I like the low POV and the stray feather at the side of the head, presumably the bird was preening. Lovely background with just enough information to tell what is there. I have never seen one of these.I Know what you mean about the weather, it is pretty dire. Happy Christmas.
David.

Hi Johathan,
I am a Plover Lover Lol. I really like the look of your little Plover! Your composition looks great to me. Focus or sharpening seems a little soft. The plumage around the legs seems more detailed than on the face. A little more contrast may help also.

Beautiful little bird... lovely low angle and background. The attitude towards nature/bird photographers you write about is the same here. Other photographers who are not respectful or just ignorant spoil it for those who are respectful and caring. Unfortunately we who have a camera are all lumped together. Thank you for sharing, Jonathan.
