Great stare, great detail. And the tough backlighting looks to my eye to be very well handled. Keep the Little Owls coming.
Very nice, I love that BG which shows off the Owl, and what a great stare. The whites near the tail do distract me a little.

Hi Dennis, I really love the background, particularly the streaks on the right. I don't mind the backlight and halo, as the subject more than makes up for it. For me, the man-made perch is not ideal, but I would have been thrilled to take this shot :)

Hi thanks for the comment, the strange thing here is that perch is for the owl a natural one and is in situ all year round ,usual I move perches around and just hope the bird lands but as I needed the bird at a certain time I left this perch in situ as I am more or less guaranteed to get the bird on the perch at or just before dusk ,next task is to get te bird on a nicer looking perch backlit
Lovely shot, I doubt if a great deal could be done with the blown feathers, they look well blown, but the pose perch and setting look excellent.
There are little owls nearby to where I live I spotted one near a stable during summer- but can I find him now - can I heck!
awesome
