Still waiting for the owls to appear in good light, nearly made it today, maybe next week!

Nice far wing position, nice body and head and also excellent background, Jon.

Your getting real good at these birds Jon. Lovely image throughout. Yes good light would make a difference, but this one is still good :S3:

I like the comp and the BG is great.
Not loving the near wing position.
There is more noise on the owl in this image than the others, most noticeable in the armpit of the near wing.
No noise in the BG on this one though and it looks great.
Really cannot wait to see these guys in brighter light. You will be the envy of us all!

I like the BG, sharpness and composition. A better near wing position would have been nice but you take what you can get. Look forward to seeing more of your images of these beautiful owls.

Hi Jonathan. You are certainly giving us a good showing of these super birds. Another lovely image under pretty poor conditions. Hope they are still around for you when the weather finally clears (Wednesday?)

I must admit I didn't notice the noise until Gail mentioned it, here is a repost, a bit softer but the noise is better. On reviewing the raw conversion I had not applied anything like enough NR especially as I had used the DLO option. On the repost there is no DLO and more NR

Hi Jon, love the far wing position, and I quite like the stare ahead with only the left eye visible. Thats a sweet BG too. Hopefully Barney enjoys these trips with you. :w3

Thanks for you kind comments and feedback everyone. Stu, Barney was with me again last Thursday, I was busy explaining to someone where the owl was likely to be and where to stand, sure enough the owl turned up but I was in the wrong place and when I got there the light had gone! Just maybe a chance tomorrow or Wednesday - fingers crossed.
