Canon 5D Mk3

Another from the lochside. I don't know if its the same all over, but here in Scotland, these birds are so alert, getting close is difficult.
Thanks for looking

A very nice look at him, especially given how skittish they are. Exposure looks good to my eye, and he stands out nicely against the darker water.
Very nice Will! I have never seen an image which shows the purple hue on the top of the head.
Nice BG and suits the theme very well.
Like the low POV and great head turn and splayed tail on top of the water.

Very nice image, Will. Nice head turn, good feather detail in the head, nice looking water.
Hi Will, great eye contact here, and talking about the eye, it really pops from the greens of the head. Excellent exposure, and I like the few droplets on the back. Comp wise, I would maybe take a bit off the bottom, as the reflection is not that clear. :w3
I like the eye contact, exposure, calm water, BG, low angle and composition. Very well done Will!
Will that is a beautiful shot, great pose and colours to die for, if you have the canvas I would suggest a slightly looser crop and losing a little from the base.
What a stunner! The colors and light are simply amazing.
Marina stole my word; a stunner indeed! Did you happen to get a macro shot of those amazing scapulars??? I think that those four elegant, curvy, edged feathers are scapulars, but I could very well be wrong.... a
Thanks for the kind comments, Hi Arthur, yes they are very nice feathers, I would love to get closer to them :S3:

ps: I checked with good friend Julie Zickefoose, noted avian artist. She confirmed that they are indeed the scapulars.
