Think I explained on my last post of Harvest Mice these are escapees that are running free, will try and catch them up before winter comes.
Thanks for looking and your comments on my last post.

Hi Keith, I'm very envious with you and your Harvest mice, what great characters and as I said before, a nice break from what we all tend to post.
Personally I prefer the previous posting as both the pose and perch worked much better IMJHO. I feel this still has similar flaws to the previous posting and guess this was taken around the same time. I would either recrop or blend the top RHC so there is continuity across the top, likewise the small lighter dot to the left of the body. Just had a quick look at the Histogram and although it's just a guide, personally I might just drop it back on the exposure between one and two thirds of a stop, just personal taste, but I feel it will help.

Hi Keith , as cute as previous post .
Overall i think the previous one was better from the image design if one wants to compare , as i think the " butt shot " is less attractive at least to me . The comp does work for me .
I think the image can stand a bit more tonal depth / exp .
Nice work Keith ,keep them coming and good luck with the refugees to get them back .

Hi Keith - I agree about this compared to the previous post and also agree with Steve and Andreas's other comments and suggestions. For me, the major issue with this one is that the pose is not as attractive. I also might try to include the full flower of the two flowers at the bottom of the frame rather than cutting them. I recognize that this might mean that others are included and cut but it seems that there is only a sliver missing from these and it would be better to include them.
TFS,
Rachel
Thanks all, these can be a bit difficult to get away from that real Mouse look as my lovely wife describes it to the cute look.
Steve not sure about (would either recrop or blend the top RHC so there is continuity across the top, likewise the small lighter dot to the left of the body.
Rachel I take your point thanks.
Keith.
Hi Keith, I have sent you an explanation so it should clarify your query.
With regard to these postings, these images have so much potential, I would strongly suggest you persevere if you have time just to hone the little things as they are a great source of interest.
Cheers
steve
Love the overall colour, pleasing BG and wonderful subject here Keith, I do agree with lowering the exp -.75 and not cutting the lower flower.

Thanks Steve and Marc very encouraging.

I think I have a weakness for little mice, Keith:bg3: Let us call it a "soft spot"...
I don't mind the "butt" at all here, LOL... What I would personally like to see is a slightly better head angle, never easy with mice because they are incredibly fast and one has to anticipate those rare moments when they hesitate considering the next move... You got to be fast and you're not allowed to miss that first shot, the sound of the shutter is enough to set this little one spiralling down that branch - am I right? This is my experience with the Kalahari Mice, love them to bits and spent hours trying to capture them foraging around, always loads of fun as they make those incredible jumps and disappear, only to appear somewhere else busy munching on a tiny yellow flower, front feet clasped together like hands, nose twitching and oh-those-long-whiskers!
Please don't give up on those mice, Keith - you will get some stunners, I just know it.
Nice techs, by the way:cheers:
Kind regards,
Gabriela you and me both when it comes to Mice, my wife and I visited a point in South Africa near Cape Town the old brain cannot remember the name, there was a nice café down at the bottom which was overrun with a lovely little striped Mice with most of the customers never noticing
them, tried unsuccessfully to find the pics I took.
Having real fun trying to photograph them and also to breed some for a release program .
Have a few more to post in the future buy not to many to bore you.
Thanks a lot very much appreciated.
Keith.
Yep, Mice are awesome:)
Cape Town? Could be the Striped little guys as well!
Never boring to me, keep them coming please. I have hundreds of images of my Mice...Email them to me if you just want to share! See if you can get some "family shots"?
Have a wonderful evening,
The image is really cute and I like the slightly backward looking pose - will have to look at the previous one - just catching up!
Thanks Jonathan, my other post of these had the Mouse in a different pose, pleased you liked this one.
Keith.
Keith,I've been digging about a bit these images of our harvest mouse are wonderful,I'm also intreagued that you are breeding them, WOW!! I personally like the balance between the mouse looking left and the digitalis leaning right, beyond that my friend i'm really out of my depth,ok colour looks right, but really Keith this is where I'll start to struggle. Many thanks for posting these what a joy
Stu
Thank you Stuart, think these Mice take me back to being a child and finding there smashing little nests in the cornfields, very hard to find these days.
Keith.
