This was one of the birds I was really hoping to photograph while in Texas, but unfortunately I only got two frames of one during the entire trip. Luckily, this was one of them.

These are such beautiful birds Doug and we had the opportunity of seeing them while visiting the Pantanal , Brazil. last summer. Beautifully composed and great lighting. Love the pose in this image and the interesting perch as well as good exposure and excellent detail. Fine work !!!

Great light, perch, BG and details. More eye contact would have been great, too bad the bird was not more cooperative. I would be happy to see this species sometime.

Great capture Doug,
The composition and exposure are dead on. I like the background and that perch...

I like the head-on look which is always powerful, the perch (nicely textured) and BG (nicely blurred).
I might try selecting around the eyes and opening them up so they are better seen.

I also like the head on, but it is difficult to pull off in my experience. You've done it here Doug. I would like to see a bit more detail separating the eye and the face. It's there in the image, but it needs to be brought out so that the eyes are more pronounced.

Doug that is beautiful -love the head on look, the detail -actually everything. There are more of them up at Maxwell, they just hanging out on the fences.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I tried to bring out the eyes a little, but I guess not quite enough. I'll rework it.
