Not always easy to get bear shots, especially in Yellowstone (it is no Alaska) Here is a young female bear that was my only close Grizzly sighting. She really had an adorable face, not like the males that look rather ugly. The **** Grass got in the way of her face, but the dried grass was very tall in that field, and there was nothing I could do. I tried cloning them out, but it proved too much of a challenge for me, could not replicate the fur to look natural. I had cleaner frames then this, but not with such a good vantage point (I was lying really low to get this shot at head level, one thing I like is that it feels like you are hiking in the grass and all of a sudden you see the bear right in front of you through the grass. I also have a shot with her head or at least bot eyes more to the right as she was looking at something, so they are clear of most of the grass, but then her stare is much more to the side and less engaging. This was the best I got on the trip, hopefully better luck with the bears at least, next time.

Hi Dvir - I added the "Theme" prefix for you because this fits right in this month's theme. Yes it's unfortunate about the grasses but I would not clone them out for the simple reason that they were there and are natural. The eyes are mostly in the clear. Based on your techs the light must have been strong, you did well to control it. Nice detail and fall tones. I would prefer a bit more room below for the rest of the bear. Nice one.

Rachel

Thanks Rachel, It was ISO 1000 not 100, my mistake, but you are right, it was half cloudy half not, and so the back of the year (which has very whiteish silver fur, easily reflects the light while the rest does not. I did not know it fits into the theme so thank you for adding that!

Hi Dvir, I would echo Rachel's thoughts & views, but agree, Alaska is the place to be for Bears, although I might personally be looking elsewhere for something different next time :S3:.

Hello Dvir,
Priceless look on the Bear's face with its mouth wide open and those wandering eyes:)
Indeed a pity about the grasses, if this character was special to me I would certainly keep this frame for memory sake. I am really sorry you did not have the opportunity to get some clear shots of this big fellow.
A difficult image to work with IMO, not a portrait and not enough space for the virtual limbs/feet either, I keep searching for something to grab my eyes but I cannot find it - sorry Dvir.
I am sure you must have more from this trip and I look forward to those images, thank you so much for sharing.
