EOS-1D Mk III, 500mm f/4 + 2xII, 1/250, f/8, ISO 50
Manual Exposure (Sunny f/16 minus 1/3)
Manual flash set for -1 Fill Flash
About 85% of Full Frame
Photographed in harsh light (full sun at 11 am) last month at Malheur NWR Headquarters in southeast Oregon.
I was trying (in vain) to photograph warblers which were hanging out in the shadowy depths of this flowering
Prairie Crabapple tree when this guy landed quite close on a relatively open perch so I thought I'd give it a try.
Looking forward to your comments and critiques !

I like it Mike !!! Did well with the light Good pose and head angle. Would like a little more room for the virtual tail and ideally the bird more to the left with space for the flower on the corner. Maybe a little extra room if yo have it !!! Excellent capture !!!

Great exposure, details and BG. I agree on more room for the tail if you have.

Perfect color on that chest, nice inquisitive pose, and nice colorful BG. Like to see room for th etail as well if you got it.
