I like the exposure control, sharpness, nesting material and BG colors. Well done Jonathan!

Hi Jon, love the body posture, reminds of a Ski jumper having launched off the ramp.
The techs worked well, but with the SS you only have a hint of what appears to be rain. Personally I would have gone the same route, less SS would have gained more streaks (would need be be below 1/200) but then you wouldn't have nailed the 'in-flight'. Personal prefs, but I think the orange/reds of bill & legs look a bit rich/sat??? Like the fact this has nesting material rather than sand eels, makes a nice change IMHO.

These are tough little bullets to catch in flight. You've gotten a great wing position, good exposure. Very well done.

Hi Jon, you certainly nailed the exposure on this fellow, and love the flight pose with the swept back wings. A different BG than the norm for a Puffin image, and great that he has nesting material in his beak. Well captured.

Lovely image Jon. I wouldn't change a thing. Perfect exposure on the bird. The nesting material adds interest.

Thanks for the feedback and comments much appreciated. I desaturated the greens very slightly and I popped the head and bill by a little sponging and a USM for more contrast. I also did a little Dodging on the eye.
