I arrived at the lochside during the hours of darkness yesterday morning, and had my portable hide set up before light. As the light began to appear, the loch looked lovely with a mist hanging over it. It gave me a great opportunity to capture some atmospheric shots. The birds flying towards me are Greylag Geese, which have recently arrived from Iceland.
Thanks for looking and the views/comments on the Red Grouse. Much appreciated.

Hi Will, I like the scene, but it just looks flat with little contrast and I don't mean in the slider sense. You need to get the white & black points balanced, then take it from there, you need to look at the Histogram. This is just where the whites and blacks start to clip, but then just pulled back a fraction.
I think you can then start to adjust thereafter, but still retain the atmosphere.

Thanks for that Steve, I have a few different images with the mist, I will keep that in mind for the next one :S3:

Hi Will, great head on capture of the two Geese, and love the curved wing positions. I do like the inclusion of the OOF birds, they add to the overall scene of the morning. Steve's repost does add a touch of pop.
