This is your best Barn Owl image IMO. The detail on the bird is lovely, its a pity there wasn't more light on its face. I love the flight pose, the BG fits nicely. Maybe take a wee bit of top ? Great capture Jon.

Thanks Will, I have been working on some revised raw settings after taking advice and I think the image quality is better, I am also beginning to get more control over luminosity masks.

How to great to capture a Barn Owl. Excellent body/ wing position, and a look in your direction. The exposure looks good, just wish for a light on the face. Wish I had one like it.

Nice colours and I like the look and arched wing. Personally I might go for less above purely for presentation, but I always build in room for text etc in the original capture. Just watch the brighter whites so they don't get too hot. Remember lumo masks were for Landscapes, but are not the 'silver bullet, everything has it's place and roll :w3.

Jon I like the pose you have caught and also the wet breast feathers which suggests the bird as been hunting in wet grass, would be very pleased if it was mine, very well done.
