Image taken one rainy cold morning during our Kruger trip.
Was all puffed in response to the weather...
Nikon D3S with 500F4
1/800 @f5.6
ISO 4000
0,3 EV to get detail in darks.
Vehicle cam-rack as platform with Gimbal.
20% crop from sides for comp.
Do not like square crops, but no choice here..
C&C welcome!

I love square crops! Never understood why so many photogs do not like them.
I would love to see more room above and below the bird.Feels a bit tight, especially for the feet.
I love your title! Fluffed up pose is very nice. Nice diffuse light.
The grasses in the BG are a bit distracting. If mine, I would clone a couple of them out on the RHS of bird.

I find it a little too tight in the frame.

Looks pretty cool this one Andre. Lovely detail on the bird especially the head area. The tight crop displays the feathers very well and they draw the attention bigstyle :S3: Fantastic colours.
Nice one

Lovely detail for a difficult subject. The wild ones can be a bit jumpy and hard to get in sharp focus sometimes. One could wish for a little more room around the bird, especially on the left.

Thank you every-one for comments and suggestions!
This is another case of too much lens for the bird!
No space on top or bottom, had to make sure when capturing image, nothing was cut.
Had only space sides, cropped for comp, leaving him space to look into.
Did not leave much on LHS, SQ crop with subject in the middle...

Hi Andre, no chance of shooting a few frames vertical, so why did you choose landscape if thing were limited?
I think there is some nice detail in the head, but if options were limited then popping on a 1.4 for a more detailed shot/image may have been a better choice. Like the jazzy chest, but boy do they make a racket as an alarm call, the mobile KFC for a leopard I think :bg3:.

Hi Andre, I do like these guys, and you have brought out the detail and colours so well. I like the fluffed up plumage too. With too much lens, I normally go for a head shot. :w3
