Sprinting Greater Yellowlegs.
I was fortunate to be able to keep this fella in the frame, with my elbows firmly planted in the ground, as it sped up to get from one body of water to another. Having said this, it ended up too far forward in the frame so I moved it back by adding some canvas which I borrowed from behind and then cropping to taste. It's a bit more than I usually like to do but the pose and surroundings were well worth the extra effort to improve on the image IMO.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped as detailed above, darkened the pupil and lightened the iris.
