Visited my mate's property this morning and took a couple of fish frames for my perch set-up.
A first-year White-bellied Sea Eagle obligingly arrived at daybreak and swooped straight in for the freebie.
I sadly only had great light for about 10 minutes, the rest of the morning was overcast.

Hi Akos, exquisite light here, and I like the pose and how the open beak of the eagle and open mouth of the fish are both angled in the same direction. Overall, nice and sharp, and just love the colours of the BG.
After seeing this on the back of your camera, Im sure you didnt mind that the rest of the day was overcast. :w3
You certainly made the best use of the light Akos,bird looks great as do the colours in the bg,fish head showing the eye is a real bonus, great work.

The overall light, colors, poses and background all work very well here. The fish head 'pose' is very striking and seems like it is surprised at what has happened.
I could see a version with a sliver off the right hand side, to move the bird a bit to the right, but personal taste really.
Many a day I have been out with the loons and only got a few minutes of good light. I always count my blessings.

The light is beautiful, not only on the bird but on the BG as well which is a nice bonus. The Eagle had a nice pose, but it's the fish head expression that really made me smile
Hi Akos - Beautiful light! I too really like the pose with both heads turned. Excellent sharpness too. Upon viewing I had the same thought as Randy, a little off the rhs would take an already excellent image up a notch.

Some of the nicest light I've ever seen in an image and this raptor just pops!!! I would crop some off of the right too. Wouldn't mind seeing just a sliver more on top.

I am late to the party. This type of light is what gets us all out of bed. You may have only had 10 minutes of good light but you nailed this shot!

This is the light I strive to shoot in, actually it's the light we all strive to shoot in I would think!! It has given the eagle a great 3D look to it and the color of the light has made for a beautiful golden cast on the subject. The pose with the open beak and the side profile is awesome and the details look fantastic also. Love the fish face expression to. Well done

An interesting fact was mentioned to me by an ecologist friend today after he asked whether the fish is an Atlantic Salmon and I confirmed that yes it was.
He simply said, make sure the image does not make it to Tasmania, as the salmon farmers down there are already shooting seals that apparently raid and eat their fish. Sad world we live in. Raptors (and other animals too) get persecuted Down Under in Oz as well to this day. In Tasmania, just recently, a discovery was made where two Wedge-tailed Eagles, five Tasmanian Devils and a few hawks were found dead, under a sheet in bushland.
