Springis here and these Redstarts have arrived back in the Forest. This one turned up at my pool yesterday and must have been fresh in. He bathed twice in two visits so I was well pleased. Always hard to not blow that wwhite head stripe but this is not far off.
Beautiful birds.

Thanks both. Must admit its another notch in the barrel for "cheap" gear!! So many times people criticise pics with faults because of "camera problems" I reckon user problems are far more often to blame.
Thanks again

John, I am not a nikon shooter so don't recognize the gear, but whatever, you made fine work of this photo. Not one thing that I would change. May I ask what this species is?

Hello Grace
Sorry my info wentall funny and missed a bit out. Its a Redstart- a summer visitor to these parts. Easily attracted to nest boxes mainly in the West of England.

Thanks, John. We have American Redstarts on this side of the pond. Hopefully by the end of spring migration, I will have one to post here.

Very sharp super detail, I presume he heard the shutter fore and gave the all important head turn!
