This Lesser Scaup was eager to see where the call was coming from! It was swimming rather quickly which created a nice wake in front of it, and a dip behind. When combined with my low angle approach it made for a neat effect.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/7.1, ISO 800, cropped for composition (after lowering the brownish band above to include it in), audio used.

Great photo Dan, love the wave in front. Super details and good head angle. You have been knocking your duck photos out the park of late. Well done!

Dan:
That pose almost looks 'loonoid', a real low rider.
Great POV, nice display of the green on head, excellent head angle.
Even got a bit of green showing in the bow wave.
Nice.
Cheers

Pretty cool Dan. The title describes it perfectly :S3: The wave is perfect and great details on the duck. Perfect HA. BG blends great with the FG I like how it is finished off with the brownish on top. Nice work

Very beautiful image, nice colors in the bird and the water. Your choice of crop is well balanced with the nice head turn. TFS.

Dan, Like it a lot. Great POV and the crop is great. The wake sends it over for me.

Love the pushing water look. Think it would be even stronger with the neck reflection removed or the full head included.
