I changed the focus settings on my 7D Mk2, and I think I am now getting more keepers with BIF. I am happy with the IQ of this Grey Heron. :S3: Now starting to use the 5D Mk3 for perched birds and I am finding the 7DMk2 better for BIF.
Thanks for looking and for any comments

Yes, the image quality is excellent! Nice suggestive background that is complimentary to the subject. Details sharp. Exposure spot on. I particulary like the feet/talon detail. The shadowed areas on the bird still show very nice detail. A fine image sir.

The only thing I can add to the comment by Shawn is that I also very much like the composition. I was at the London Wetland Centre a number of years ago and saw one of these and thought it was the same as our Great Blue Heron. Spoke with one of the people there and they explained the difference, as well as the similarities.
Well done for sure!

Excellent IQ & the light is gorgeous. Would prefer a looser crop to get more of the water in.

Excellent flight shot. Superb IQ. Beautiful colors, great fine details in feathers and nice composition.
If mine ,would add some space behind the bird to give pano crop.

Satish.

Although the wing position is not the most desirable it is a nice sharp image, William.

Good image, most of it is in focus which for such a large bird is difficult. Great advert for the new 7D km II. Good under wing detail as well.
