From last evening. Strong South winds and many people enjoying the first warm day of spring made photography a challenge. This image is a larger crop than I prefer and is beginning to suffer from it, but it is a behavior that I have always wanted to capture and will keep this until I get something better. Some white shells removed from the background.
Very nicely exposed, with fun pose, like the peeking claws, the shadow, angle in frame and low POV.
Because of the pose, I would consider a bit off the top, but must be the pano mode kicking as I think about loons!
Cheers

Hi Grace, I love the POV and the beautiful details on the bird. Great pose which shows nicely against that BG.

Great fully stretched wing. And what balance! Beautiful light and low POV as usual. Love the way the bird stands out against the dark beach. Nice to see the Plovers back.

My favorite shorebird pose! You did well despite the conditions you describe and the large crop. The bird's pale plumage looks great against the slate grey BG.

Hi Grace
Looks pretty good to me - and the typical wader stretch so typical, ans its great the way the subject jumps out of the dak backdrop. The IQ only seems to suffer when you start pixel peeping
Good stuff.

Very nice stretching, I like the bright bird on the dark BG. I'd take some off the top as well. TFS.

Nice moment captured. Does anyone know the reason of this type of behavior, apart of stretching?

I like the low angle, pose, BG/FG and composition. Beautiful image Grace!
