Geez, that is one different looking bird!!! Love the pose and BG, a bit less sharpening may be better. Thanks for sharing this!
I like the perch and light. The bird looks a bit oversharpened (heavy crop?) and has a halo. A bit more head turn toward you would have made it even better as well as a bit less contrast for more details in the blacks. In the upper right is some sensor dust.
A face only a mother could love,
I like the colrs and the pose...
Hi Loukie!
I agree with the given suggestions for improvement above. I do love the texture and "knarleyness" of the perch, and how it fits well with the "tuff guy" look of the bird! The duo-tone background is clutter-free.
Axel caught all my comments and I agree with Fabs on this being one different looking bird. I like that perch as it goes with the bird's look.
Thanks for sharing this lovely image of a species I have never seen before. Nits mentioned.
What an incredible looking bird and I appreciate your post of this species Loukie. Axel has covered everything but many thanks for sharing and I look forward to your future posts.
Holy moly and I thought wood storks were hard to look at ! Thanks for showing us this guy.
Lou
Thank you for all the crits & nits, I appreciate them. Next breeding season I will try and do a better job, they are quite gregarious little characters, and usually end up with at least 4 or 5 wives. L
