I like what you've done with this including the fog effect. It's my guess that you masked the fog off most of the forward killdeer but left it on the other. Or, it could be that the one on the left is slightly out of focus. My inclination would be to fog the left one some more so that uncertainty goes away.
Dennis, the bird on the left was out of the plane of focus. In the repost, I increased the fog modestly and selectively removed it from the bird on the right. The image is not so blah. Thanks
