This image was taken from a blind at a woodland pond. The sun was just touching the trees on the western horizon and shadows were racing across the pond. Moments later, this bird would be in the shade. The light was very soft and golden and is influencing some of the color tones in this image - especially the reds. I didn't want to remove the yellowish cast as that seems to be the point of shooting in this light. I'd be interested in some other opinions. 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/1250, f/5.6, ISO 400. Cropped for composition. Comments are welcome.

Very nice portrait, light and water colors. If this is what it looked like then I wouldn't change the color temperature, either. I might decrease the contrast a bit for more details in the blacks.

Great light... Pose... Awesome image! WOOD agree w/ Axel about the blacks, but that hasn't stopped me from scrolling back up and looking again for the 6th time.
Really sweet.
