If you pay attention to titles, you might wonder if this reminds me of fire. Well, sort of, but that's not it. The title relates to the shot being on target. Not target, really, but Target.
A small group of us gets together at a local Barnes & Noble most Saturday mornings to mostly talk informally about photography. In a shopping center across the street, there's a Target store that I walk by or into many times during the year. I've always been aware of the large red concrete balls that are there to keep cars from driving onto the sidewalk. A week ago, though, as I was heading for the entrance, the texture resulting from years of weathering and repainting caught my eye.

That's a great idea and execution, one of my favorite looks with the organic/graphic kind of morph. I like how the diagonal features and color changes lead the eye from the lower right to the upper left, at least that how I see it. Well done!

Love the hot colors and how the details move your eye around the image. I agree with Kerry about the diagonal and the transition of colors from bottom to top. Creatively seen and processed!

I would add this one to my texture folder. It is amazing what is around us, once we stop to look. Agree with all of the above comments, and I never would have guessed either:)

Dennis, this is beautiful. I love the gradations of color and the sense of motion. It could be the pit of a volcano. p.s. - I like your new avatar:S3:

My granddaughter (3.5 yrs) loves to try to climb on those balls. Hard to keep her off. She sees fun. You see art. Great eye for you! Nice.
