Bright colours abound in Mexico, so I took a picture of a scarf made by local weavers and did the "Magic Circle" action. I enhanced the blues, cyans, greens, and yellow using a H/S layer. I thought it captured the spirit of the little town I visited.
That's really cool Jackie! I love the colors and the treatment, very interesting. It reminds me of the structural patterns made by some bird feathers.

Great eye you have to see the magic circle out of those diagonals. I thought at first it might be a closeup of a peacock feather. Love the colors.
This is one of the nicest "orbitals" (or whatever they are called) that I have seen -- lovely subtlety. Thanks you for showing the original -- quire a difference!
I played with them a lot a few years ago but have managed to loose the action in some computer upgrade. I'll have to rebuild it.

Jackie, this is beautiful and mesmerizing. The colors and textures are stunning. Where would one start trying to do something like this?
Gary, I discovered that things shot on the diagonal(with a uniform pattern more or less) produce the pretty much uniform "amazing circle". I think the steps to create it are in the Educational Resources, but no luck. We used to have it at the top of the forum, but I did find the thread, where Dianne Miller outlines the steps.

There is just something so "healing" about tropical places, and a lot of that is the vibrant color. If it weren't for the heat and humidity.... I'll settle for semi-tropical. A friend of our younger daughter in Los Angeles has her own private banana tree. That actually makes bananas. The thought of having your very own fully functioning banana tree blows me away.

I like the before and the after. The combination of colors and lines in the original post works very nicely.
Thanks to you and Diane for the information on the technique you used. It sounds like trying it a variety of images is an important part of learning what works well. It's good to know about diagonals.
