Another image from Yellowstone. We found this fox in the interior between Mammoth and Old Faithful. The fox was moving back and forth across a large snow field in search of food but unfortunately he stayed pretty far away. I know some will want more detail in the snow or to crop in closer but I really wanted to have a minimal feel to the image.

This is great Rachel. I like the composition and minimalist approach. The small blades of grass add to the habitat and give this a sense of place

Love your work Rachel. I really like your comp here, the fox is well placed in the frame. You have brought out the detail and different colours of the fox's coat so well. Im fine with the pose and eye contact. You should enter this in a contest. :w3

This is right up my alley, Rachel!
The only nit I can come up here, is that I wish we were able to toggle an instant "view on black" button :bg3: (instead of changing my BPN theme)

Thanks very much Shane, Haseeb, Stu and Morkel for the very kind comments. I'm glad you like this one. Morkel - that's one I can't change!
Thanks again,
Rachel

Nice Rachel. The blades of grass add just enough detail to prevent it from being to artsy for my taste. I like the shadowed bit of snow under his front legs, provides a nice pedestal. Interesting subdued colors on this one and that sure is one healthy looking tail.

Rachel,
This is just beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing. It's so full of winter feel. Well seen and executed.

A wonderful isolation image here Rachel, and (like Morkel) right up my alley.:w3
One of your best for a while at least, I love the wintery, moody feel, I like how the landscape gets lost in the white out, nicely done.:5

What an outstanding image I love the colours of the fox and the contrast with the snow. The grasses poking through the snow add that important little bit extra to the snow which also has subtle contrast. This is a beautiful image and would make a really fine print.

I also love this, and I agree it should be framed immediately! I only hope I'd have enough artistic vision to capture something like this if afforded the opportunity.

Hi Rachel,
very late on this. I am browsing through.
I like this very much.
Somehow would love to move the fox in the upper corner of the frame, no idea why!
very nice

Thanks Anette, I'm glad you found the time to stop by. I think it would look too much like it was floating if it was in the upper corner.
