This was the male tiger I saw in Tadoba in Dec 2014. I was juggling between my 7D and 5D III with my 500 on 5D3 & 70-200 2.8 II on my 7D. I was trying to get a tight portrait of this guy but then he got too close. I wish I had not clipped the chin & ears but then I liked the eyes here & the detail I got at ISO 8000!!!!!:eek3:

Awesome...IMHO..if it would looked in the camera, then it was nothing like that...still no drawbacks in the image...
Loved it a lot..

Hi Sanjeev -very impressive for ISO 8000. Nice detail and control of exp. I think I would look at cropping even tighter if the IQ can stand it. As is I find the open mouth competing with the great eyes and the clipping of the chin makes me want to draw attention to the eyes rather than the mouth.

I think the IQ looks great. Would've preferred more space on the bottom than the top. First impression was to crop tighter with a focus on only the eyes.

IQ looks great and the colours and PP look good. I just feel the crop with the cut off lower jaw a problem. I think you will need to go a little tighter.

Thanks All. Am unable to determine the best tighter crop. Would love to know what would work well here.

Sanjeev - I was thinking something along these lines though maybe not perfect, it eliminates the competing partial mouth, places the emphasis on the eyes which are both in ROTs positions.

Thanks Haseeb & Rachel for your inputs. I think both the crop options work here.

Hi Sanjeev, impressive for ISO8000, but great to see another Tiger positing. I do agree the image is a tough one regarding how to crop, however I wondered about going even tighter, but personally I think it does help to retain the mouth???

Beautiful image Sanjeev.
To me Steve has nailed the best framed crop.

Thanks Ian. I too agree that Steve's crop is probably the best in this situation. Thanks everyone for helping me out. Take care.
