Cheryl, Great eye for seeing the opportunity. I like the opposing lines and the colors. If mine, I would try a PS grain texture on the concrete and crop the image from the right creating a vertical.
I enjoy seeing little plants growing in cracks and you caught a lovely green one against the red. Perfect color combination.
Like Gary, I'd crop from the right as there isn't anything interesting happening over there. Here is my idea. I love the colors, but am not crazy about the mosaic filter. I also straightened the vertical a bit.
Good contrast of texture and color. And, yes, I like the vertical better, too. Cuts out that huge red areas and lets the plant become a focal point.
Anita, you read my mind.
I am liking these images of your Cheryl, your mind is way out of the box, winter will do that to you...love the red, but the green catches my eye
I'm always interested in conversations about composition, as I think it is one of the basic elements that define how strong an impression an image makes on the viewer. I think the placement of the little plant in your original is weakened by the lack of anything visually interesting in the right half of the image. I think it would work great if the wood of the gate or fence were to continue on, so that the green of the plant tantalizes the eye and pulls it back along the leading lines to the left of the image. As is, it seems that there is nothing to grab the eye on the right and the one leading line you can see is rather faint. I like Anita's crop and would like to see it a bit taller but there's probably no room at the top in the original I'm thinking. Nice that you both put the plant on a ROT power point. :c3: It works really well for this image.
The colours are lovely, and at first I thought it was mesh over the wall. Another agreement for a crop from the right!
