Lioness stalking me! Nearly looks like that. She was curious and came to my wonderful camping 4x4 off road fancy Jeep to about 3-4m. Standing there just looking at me. Well, when she hit the 5-6meter mark, my window started to move up. Who knows!! When she had a closer look off she went into the bush with some of her girlfriends.
It was taken around 6pm on a hazy day!
I cropped it a tad to level and to get what I wanted, about 5%.

I do like this environmental setting, and the eyes just above the grasses are lovely. Obviously, the grass stalks are a major part of the scene, but I would be tempted to remove the stalks going from the nose to the eye, and there is also 2 stalks forming a triangle just above the back which I find distracting.
However, I do like the stare you have here, you can really feel the action just waiting to explode

Mike, I left those stuff to get rid off in, just for you to find :t3 :2eyes2:
With the grass going up to the eye, might distract you, they did distract me as well first sight, but later on not anymore. No idea why. :tinysmile_shy_t:
Thanks so much for stopping by

Anette, this is a wonderful image, with the eyes of the lioness just visible above the grasses & that tail up adds so much here. I am sure it must have been a thrill with her coming up so close. I would just crop off a bit on top and add a bit to the bottom if you have it for her to walk into. Well done & TFS.

Hi Anette , if i would have been with you in the car , i would have locked the window from closing cause i am the driver :bg3:.
Very nice story of this , i love the comp and the overall design with the muted colors and the very shallow DOF , simply stunning :5.She was giving you a nice stare to whatever think of !!!
I like this a lot !!!

Hi Anette - I too really like this a lot. Love the soft colors, the layers of color, the stare and the position in frame. It just all works.

Thank you very much everybody for your time and comments.
Sanjeev, I think there is no need to add bottom on this image, the legs have enough ground here. I left it that way cropped to see if someone else comes up with a better crop suggestion. Which only would be pano or square for this one.
Andreas, when this one comes to you in this walking mode and locked her look through your lens on your eyes, you would have closed the window too, no lock for me. I do know when they jump agains a window that it breaks anyway, but at least I get 2 seconds time to move to the passenger seat, since you would sit in the back :t3 And when all not helps, I could hide fast in the trunk with my fridge :t3
Thanks you very much Rachel for your time and comment.
Have all a great day, we are sort of snowed in again :2eyes2: Well, Arc loaves it and my Arctic Muckboots are used every day :w3

A really captivating shot well done, I don't think I would have been any slower in raising that window and scooting off either, those eyes look pretty intent to me!!

Hi Anette, different and it works, like the treatment, but I think it depends on the original.

Hi Steve, I did not like much the ORG in color. Had my fun with it and I like it that way very much :bg3:
Thanks so much
Enjoy your freezing time :w3
Ciao Anette
Edit: Checked for yo again Steve. The image was done late afternoon with lots of yellow sun. That's why I did not like the light & color. Many say probably what nearly sunset, well just before with yellow all over!! Even reduced I did not like it, this way I love it :w3

Hi andreas,
yep it is tempting to do so. Will see if I do a pano. Thanks so much for your suggestion, highly appreciate it :bg3:
I removed the nasty stuff what Sanjeev and Mike suggested, but not in the face. I like that, since she walks through the grass.
Enjoy your eve

wonderful image. Lots of suspense and mystery showing. I like the three layers of tones and colors. A "hang-on-the-wall" image. Love it.

Hello Anette!
Long time no chat:bg3: but I will get in touch once back from KTP, hope to bring something interesting enough to share on the forum as well. A little late here but just wanted to say I really like this, not-quite-conventional (but it certainly is my cuppa!) and very printable IMO. You could easily turn this into a Hi-Key if you wanted to, other options also available but I like it as is and to me the charm /interest of the scene lies in the focused look of this lioness slightly concealed among the tall grasses - typical stalking behaviour and I am glad you closed the window:w3 I have had the experience of curious lions sniffling around my car window but kind of innocently...looking at the eyes of this lioness I think she meant business...
Hope you have a lovely evening, thank you so much for sharing!
