Wood Duck
This image was taken last week from a blind on a woodland pond. 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/400, f/5.6, ISO 400. I selected the eye and darkened the pupil. I also repaired a few missing breast feathers using Quick Mask, removed a few specular highlights, and cropped from the bottom and a little from the right for composition. I estimate that the head is turned 0.5 degrees toward me (maybe it's 0.05 degrees). :) Now - if only the purple cheek patch was lit up by the light ...

Nice capture on your Woody...:D The details and colors are great. Like the perch...

Steve, This is so beautiful. Clean, crisp, great details, right down to the water droplets on his breast.

Oh yeah I like this alot. The perch has just the right amount of buoyancy, and I like the nice view of the Wood Duck's webbed feet...

Well done Steve. Nice sharpness throughout. It works for me.
