NR on BG, NIK DE @ 20% and USM on bird. Curve adjustment layer to lighten eyes. Selective colour layer added black to the blacks and removed some black from the whites.
I was shooting this owl flying across a field, thus the high SS. I like the wheat grass background and leaning fencepost perch, so I didn't crop as tight on the bird as I normally might.
All C & C welcome and appreciated.

Hi Tim,
Beautiful stare, nice bird and comp. I see a blue cast and also a few masking artifacts around the head..

Tim sorry my eyes are not as good as Dons but think I can see a little cast, other wise I like the way you have caught this Owl in it's habitat, my sort of picture ,like it a lot.

Nice pose but the blue cast is very noticeable, easy to fix.....

I like the pose and display of habitat. The owl is a bot soft and has a strong blue cast, perhaps another round of sharpening might help. If mine, I'd crop a bit from the btm.

Glad you are having Snowy Owl fun too. I like the angled perch, and good call keeping more room for the "habitat". Yes to the blue cast

I like the setting and eye contact. I agree that there is a blue cast. Nice image Tim.

Thanks to all for the comments/suggestions. Here is a version with (I think) the blue cast removed)
